Embedded Software Engineer

Job Summary: A versatile and sharp programmer eager to learn and become a key contributor in designing, architecting, and developing software solutions hosted on both PC and embedded system platforms for market-leading audio analyzers.



Primary responsibilities:

 

·      Play a leading role in architecting software code base for modular code development

·      Design complex software features / critical real-time software systems

·      Participate in finding, selecting and evaluating 3rd party software and hardware components to speed development / reduce risk

·      Develop software in C#, C, C++, and assembly to enhance existing or create new user interface, control, measurement and reporting features

·      Test, debug and improve the quality of existing and new software features in both the Windows PC application and embedded systems

·      Participate in development of usage scenarios, product requirements, design documentation and project task estimation

·      Exercise sound technical judgment to identify risks early and provide input to risk mitigation strategies

Required:

·      BS in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering

·      Proficiency in high level languages including C++ and C#

·      Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills

Desired:

·      Five years’ work experience

·      Demonstrated background developing real-time Windows PC and 32/64 bit embedded systems using real-time OS

·      Experience with PowerPC / Green Hills Integrity OS desired

·      Familiarity with digital audio / audio testing techniques / audio projects strongly desired

·      Familiarity with MATLAB and signal processing

Applications Engineer

Job Summary: Develop PC-based software applications for high-performance audio test and measurement instrumentation using C++, C#, and .NET



Primary responsibilities:

 

·      Play a leading role in architecting software measurement platforms

·      Implement new measurements (using C++ and C#) by thoroughly understanding the testing requirements of key customers and emerging trends

·      Work closely with subject matter experts to develop technical solutions

·      Develop design documentation, testing requirements (including unit tests), and project task estimates for new solutions

·      Test and debug, ensuring the quality of new solutions being developed

·      Lead technical resources and coordinate software development project

Required:

·      BS in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Audio Engineering

·      Two to five years work experience

·      Experience with MATLAB and audio DSP techniques

·      Proficiency in high-level languages including C++ and C#

·      Experience developing and debugging using Microsoft Visual Studio

·      Demonstrated ability to take a project from concept to final delivery

Desired:

·      MS in Electrical Engineering / Audio Engineering preferred

·      Demonstrated ability to lead software development resources

·      Project management experience

·      Familiarity with audio testing techniques

Production Technician Supervisor

Job Summary: The Supervisor directs the activities of Audio Precision’s Production and Service staff of technicians, with the overall objective of ensuring components and assembled products meet company standards and requirements.



Primary responsibilities:

 

·      This is a working-supervisor position, with the requirement to spend time physically repairing customer or in-house units.

·      Prioritizes schedules based on product introduction, manufacturing and engineering schedules to ensure optimum efficiency and rapid turnaround.

·      The Supervisor may spend a portion of time performing work related to group assignments, such as examining warranty claims, interfacing with customers to resolve unique challenges and providing pricing for non-standard products or services.

·      Assists in test equipment evaluations and purchase decisions.

·      Supervises group to ensure established policies and procedures are followed.

·      Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of AP’s Production and Service functions.

·      Other duties as assigned.

Required:

·      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from accredited university

·      At least five years related experience, including test technician bench experience and supervisory / managerial experience.

·      Must be self-motivated, people-oriented, responsible, and organized.

Desired:

·      Customer service experience.

·      Experience with RoHS-compliant production and manufacturing.

·      Experience with operating in an ESD-controlled environment and ESD-prevention procedures.
